In a syndicated advance, a lead funder signs the contract with you and handles collections, while outside investors put up part of the money. Each participant receives its share of your remittances, usually after fees the lead funder keeps.
For you, syndication is mostly invisible. You sign with one funder and deal with one servicer. It can matter when something goes wrong, because more parties have a stake in how a default, a payment reduction or a restructuring is handled.
Before you sign, ask who services the account and who approves changes such as reconciliation or a lower payment. The answer tells you who to call when your sales drop.
